Taking Charge: Getting Information

Medical Library Association  (MLA)  ·  1-312-419-9094
The Internet is a wonderful source of good, reliable, and up-to-date information. It is also a source of wrong information. For this reason, when searching the internet for health information, it is important to evaluate websites to see if they are likely to be sources of correct information. Guidelines for doing this can be found at the MLA website. When there, click on 'For Health Consumers.' this will lead to links including the guide for finding and evaluating websites as well as to their list of the top ten most useful websites, which include:

www.healthfinder.gov

www.medlineplus.gov

www.mayoclinic.gov

www.kidshealth.org
